Manager, Communications and External Relations
The Manager contributes to development and implementation of communications strategy to support adoption of healthy food policies, maintains relationship with HFA supporters and partners, maintains the organization’s online communications infrastructure, and supports news media relations. Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of work experience in communications, journalism or public relations are required. Social media experience is highly valued. The position is based in Seattle.
VP of Research and Evaluation
The Vice President leads the development and maintenance of the organization’s knowledge base, including evaluation of policy interventions, development of research summaries, and preparation of regulatory comments and testimony. Minimum of doctoral degree in relevant field (e.g. public health, epidemiology) or equivalent combination of masters-level related education and experience. 5+ years of relevant work experience. Based in Seattle, though offsite arrangement is possible for an exceptional candidate.
VP of Policy
The VP develops a portfolio of policies to promote healthy food, provides technical assistance to partners to support policy adoption, tracks information relevant to policy priorities, and creates materials to support policy adoption and implementation. Minimum of a PhD or JD in relevant field or equivalent combination of masters-level related education and experience. 5+ years of relevant work experience. Based in Seattle, though offsite arrangement is possible for an exceptional candidate.
Healthy Food America, a 501(c)(3) and formerly Institute for Healthy Food, acts on scientific evidence to drive change in food policy and industry practice, giving people greater control over their health and reducing diet-related illnesses, such as obesity, diabetes, and heart disease. We are helping energize a national movement for healthier food, starting with a major campaign to reduce consumption of added sugars in food and beverage products.
