Database Specialist (Seattle)

$13.50/hour, 9 month temporary, part-time (30 hrs/wk) with benefits & completion bonus!

The Girl Scouts of Western Washington has partnered with Girl Scouts of the USA and other councils nationwide to build and create a comprehensive customer relationship management system integrated with a new website that will support girl and volunteer participation, improve staff, volunteer and parent satisfaction ratings and improve speed and efficiencies for girls and volunteer placement, support and recruitment.  

 

Girl Scouts of Western Washington (www.girlscoutsww.org) is seeking a Database Specialist to assist the project team in preparing the existing volunteer and membership databases to be migrated to the new Salesforce volunteer system.   The Database Specialist will be largely responsible for the timely, accurate data clean-up and export of our existing databases.  If you are looking for a long-term temporary position with health and leave benefits, flexible hours and a $500 completion bonus this might be the opportunity you are looking for!  If you have fast, accurate data entry skills, possess strong Excel skills and have worked within a CRM system we want to hear from you!  The position requires an individual that is detail-oriented, deadline driven and can follow specific instructions and protocols.

 Essential Functions:

 Perform efficient and accurate data entry into membership database.

 Running reports, or utilizing reports provided, identify data issues, and correct them in the databases to ensure complete quality data cleanups for data migration efforts.  

 Communicate and work collaboratively with other departments in order to fix or identify data issues.

Utilizing data exported to Excel, manipulate data into established templates for data migration within established deadlines.

Work with project team to support and implement data cleanup outlined in the data integrity plan.

After the new database has been implemented, perform necessary data clean up, quality verification and other data migration tasks.

Coordinate with vendors for issues resolution and clarification on data clean up tasks.

In addition to the above, perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications: 

·         Associate of Arts degree or equivalent education and work experience

·         A minimum of one years’ experience demonstrated success in a high volume, high detail, accurate data entry role

·         Previous experience doing data entry and working in a CRM database is strongly preferred

·         Must have the demonstrated ability to learn, understand and apply new technologies

·         Must have the demonstrated ability to understand basic data quality principles and practices

·         Proficient in MS Office with good working experience with Outlook and Word and advanced Excel skills

·         Demonstrated ability to prioritize and meet deadlines, work in support of others, take initiative and maintain confidentiality

·         Demonstrated ability to follow specific directions, protocols and work procedures

·         Good verbal and written communication skills

·         Strong interpersonal skills to ensure effective interactions with individuals at all levels and backgrounds

·         Demonstrated commitment to support and enhance the diversity, cultural and global awareness of girls and staff

·         Valid Washington State driver’s license, vehicle in working condition, proof of insurance, or the ability to fulfill timely travel requirements in the greater Seattle-Tacoma area on occasion
