Applications Operations - Configuration Mgt Engineer - Seattle
Requirements:
· 4-5 years Linux experience. UNIX systems administration often provides the necessary skills, but is not required.
· Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Linux command line tools
· Experience diagnosing and troubleshooting Linux systems
· Experience with the following web technologies:
o Apache: VirtualHosting, SSL, Logging, RewriteRules, Compiling and using modules
o Java: Emphasis on memory management, garbage collection
o Tomcat - containers, servlets, SSL, logging
· Advanced understanding of LAMP design and best practices
· Bash scripting - including sed, awk
· One of both of Perl/Python
· Software packaging, particularly RPMs
· Experience with Puppet (or Chef): Inheritance, overriding, inclusion, variable scoping, classes, templates, definitions
· Version control systems: CVS, SVN, Git
· Monitoring Tools: Zabbix preferred, Nagios is a close fit
· Be a part of a 24x7 on call rotation
Requirements:
- 3-5 years of Systems Admin/Engineering experience, BS in Computer Science or equivalent field, or equivalent experience.
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Linux command line tools
- Experience troubleshooting complex problems, possibly involving OS internals.
- Passionate about new technologies and new ideas, like DevOps
- Solid networking knowledge
- Intermediate knowledge of shell scripting and at least one other programming or scripting language (Python, Perl, Ruby, Java, PHP preferred)
- Great multitasking and task prioritization skills
- Advanced understanding of LAMP design and best practices
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to be a member of 24/7 on call rotation
Qualifications:
· 4+ years' experience with PostgreSQL
· 3+ years' experience with Oracle 11g and 10g Enterprise Edition
· 3+ years' experience with MySQL
· Oracle Dataguard, RMAN and Replication
· Experience working on 24/7 production three-tier systems and troubleshooting performance issues
· Solid understanding of UNIX command line, and o/s fundamentals
· Experience with CVS, SVN and Git
· Experience with perl, and bash scripting. Experience with Python a plus
· Experience with configuration management tools like Puppet or Chef
· BS or BA from an accredited college or university or equivalent
· Strong communication skills
