We are continuing to build our Field Service team by adding a Field Service Technician.
Summary:   
The Field Service Technician is responsible for servicing all warranty and approved non-warranty repairs to Apollo Video equipment and conducting maintenance in compliance with service contracts. Special projects/assignments may be assigned.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Services equipment on a daily basis.
  • Maintains excellent customer service.
  • Performs various system modifications/retrofit campaigns.
  • Commissions and decommissions vehicles following transit agency guidelines.
  • Checks work orders and related manuals and schematic diagrams to determine tasks to be performed and tools, equipment and parts needed for installation or repair assignment.
  • Discusses assignment with customer’s representative and inspects installation site to verify that equipment is installed according to specifications.
  • Tests electrical components and replaces faulty components using hand tools.
  • Conducts routine preventative maintenance according to established guidelines and schedules.
  • May train customer staff in repair and maintenance of equipment.
  • Responsible for compliance of service contracts in respect to response times and service levels.
  • Communicate, document and report faults and product failure trends.
  • Compile reports, complete work orders and sign-off sheets.
  • Document work performed.
  • Manage inventory of spare equipment.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Familiarity with automotive wiring
  • Expertise with electrical systems, use of volt meter and other tools
  • Use of small tools or hand tools
  • Troubleshooting skills – electrical systems, software and hardware
  • Advanced computer skills
  • Work autonomously and have the ability to make decisions without supervision (as work is typically conducted during overnight hours)
Education/Experience: 
  • High School diploma or equivalent. 
  • Professional license or related training.  
  • A combination of one to three years of directly related training and/or experience is typically required for carrying out the responsibilities for this job.
Certificates and Licenses: 
  • A+ Certification strongly preferred

  • Varied field environment performing service work.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job are close, distance, color and peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate in an office or normal manufacturing environment, working on transit buses in garages.
