The University of Washington Club seeks Assistant Grill Cook

The University of Washington Club, a non-profit, private club on the UW campus seeks a passionate Assistant Grill Cook.  A minimum of 2 years back of house experience is required.  This position is responsible for assisting with the setup, cleanliness, and operation of the grill, fry, sandwich, and soup side of the lunch program.  He/she is also responsible for, but is not limited to, the prep and support of the other lunch stations and the catering program. The UW Club’s open kitchen requires each team member to be in service at all times. The successful person in this position is positive, dependable, an excellent communicator, and understands a sense of urgency.
Basic work requirements for this position include:
  1. Must be able to lift 50-75 lbs.
  2. Be able to stand for a minimum of 6-8 hours
  3. High school degree or equivalent
  4. 2 years of culinary experience
  5. Able to communicate with co-workers and club members
  6. Work well with a team
  7. Properly utilize product on a daily basis
  8. Have a positive attitude under stressful situations
  9. Able to organize and multi-task
  10. Basic knife skills and equipment knowledge
  11. Up to date food handler’s card.

This position is PT/20-25 hrs per week, Monday through Friday. Employees pay for parking on campus or in the U District.
