New Beginnings Transitional Housing Program Children's Advocate
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
Meet with each child and mother individually as needed for the purpose of providing emotional support and advocacy and assist in connecting families with community resources
Coordinate with Child Protective Services, Mental Health Services, schools and other outside providers
Facilitate childcare one evening a week during support group for adults
Facilitate age-appropriate educational/support groups for children and teens
Conduct age appropriate activities, transport families to enrollment centers, library, community center, or camp using agency van
Provide parenting support and resources for moms
Respond to emergency situations that may arise
Maintain accurate service data and other required recordkeeping
Maintain up to date information about community resources
Complete at least one helpline shift per month
