WestSide Baby, in partnership with our community, provides essential items to local children in need by collecting and distributing diapers, clothing and equipment. Since opening in 2001, we have distributed $14 million in essential items for children and in 2014, we served more than 27,000 children!
WestSide Baby’s programs are thriving and we are growing to meet the increases in community support and need. We’ve dramatically increased our impact, and we have doubled our volunteer engagement while bringing in 33% more donations of items.
About the Position
We are seeking an energetic, cause-driven, creative Marketing/Communication Manager with strong project management skills, vision, and initiative to help us move WestSide Baby to a new level of increased engagement and awareness.
Our successful candidate will be called upon to unify the marketing and outreach efforts of WestSide Baby across all departments and directed toward various audiences, develop tools and resources for expanding our messages, develop new channels of communications, solidify and enhance our current support base, and expand our reach to additional areas of the county.
This is a full-time exempt position with an opportunity to shape the overall marketing and communications program of WestSide Baby. The Marketing/Communications Manager reports to the Executive Director and works in collaboration with the Program and Development departments.
Management
· Oversee the execution of and adherence to established Strategic Messaging Platform in collaboration with public affairs firm
· Provide vision to grow WestSide Baby presence in new areas
· Develop and support marketing and communications project plans and manage staff, interns and volunteers supporting those plans
· Create a communication style and procedure guide for staff reference
· Manage graphic design, printing, video, website and other project-related vendors
Marketing & Communications – External
· Set vision, plan and manage Marketing of three annual community engagement events or fundraisers
· Develop and implement the strategy and execution for outreach at community events
· Oversee and execute mass communications, including electronic eFlashes and several mailed pieces per year
· Work closely with graphic designer and/or videographer to develop collateral
· Provide Copy for or update WSB collateral pieces including
o Strategic Plan Marketing Piece
o Event material and General Collateral
o Annual Report
o Donation Drives Materials
· Manage media partner relationships – Update and Maintain PR kit
· Provide updated copy for website and oversee regular website updates
· Grow and maintain social media presence and activities
· Develop program and materials for cross marketing and promotional programs for corporate partners to increase those relationships
· Speak on behalf of WestSide Baby
Marketing & Communications - Internal
· Enhance and implement an organization wide communications plan
· Work with the Directors of Programs and Development to coordinate the outreach and communications strategy and execution for WestSide Baby related events.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
· Excellent interpersonal skills with collaborative style
· Demonstrated experience working with and leading a staff and volunteer team
· Exemplary communication skills and the ability to engage support to execute projects
· Independent problem solving, project development experience
· Graphic design skills helpful – experience working with graphic design vendors required
· Passion for supporting our mission
· Experience with social media
· Database management experience a plus
Position Requirements
· Minimum Bachelor’s Degree
· Minimum 5 years’ experience with similar position in related field
· Proficient and experienced writer with demonstrated expertise in spelling and grammar and writing to specific audiences

Compensation
$40,000-$50,000 Salaried Exempt Position. DOE, PTO, Paid Holidays and Health Care Stipend Available
