CHECKER POSITION
Link Staffing Services provides temporary staffing services for large and small business and contractors requiring skilled crafts and trades to light-industrial, semi-skilled and general labor. These positions are for long term assignments that could possibly become full time with the client depending on performance and the company’s hiring needs.
Goal: To assist managing accurate and efficient shipping and receiving procedures
Job description:
· Assures that the correct product is received in the right amounts and in a proper
condition acceptable by our customers
· Completes appropriate paperwork for product shipped and received from trucks,
containers , railcars and the processing lines
· Completes board tags for product shipping to the processing lines
· Coordinates with warehousemen and truck drivers on shipping and receiving ( i.e. explain dock procedures to drivers, etc.)
· Completes tally sheets and manifests when necessary. Add up manifests on ten-key
· Helps coordinate loading with the other warehouse when trucker is loading product from multiple buildings
· Reviews all paperwork for errors before signing carrier out
· Monitors the dock for theft prevention
· Notifies foreman of unauthorized persons on the loading dock (truck drivers waiting to be loaded and lumpers not employed by the company)
· Assists foreman whenever he needs help to obtain information, supplies, etc.
· Maintains professional relationships with other employees and customers
· Stocks supplies at each building
· Performs other duties as assigned by management
SHIPPER POSITION
Shipping / Receiving
Prepare, pack, and process orders using courier’s software according to company
approved Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and/or Quality standards.
Prepare and accurately complete all outbound paperwork (e.g. waybills) and ensure packages have proper markings in accordance with approved standards
Elaborate on shipping estimates for orders as requested
Receive all inventory items and ensure all items are handled and stored according to set Quality standards
Accurately inspect incoming materials; report and document all damages and shipping shortages/errors to the Shipping Supervisor
Perform daily cycle counts and report inventory discrepancies
Maintain warehouse equipment functionality and organize inventory in the distribution warehouse
Maintain safe, clean and organized work environment by complying with regulations
Other duties as specified by Distribution Manager
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalency
Minimum requirement of 1-3 years warehousing experience
Previous experience with Quality Management System
Able to perform various tasks in a fast-paced and cold storage environment.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Good physical ability to carry 35 lbs on a regular and consistent basis.
