Pacific Science Center is hiring a Volunteer Talent Manager; Seattle

 

Pacific Science Center seeks a Volunteer Talent Manager to lead our Volunteer Corps and a wide breadth of volunteer programs and positions that support Pacific Science Center's mission. The Manager works with volunteer managers throughout the institution to identify, recruit, develop and evaluate Volunteers and ensure volunteer programs extend the reach of employees and programs in realizing our mission. The Manager conducts marketing and outreach to volunteers; orients volunteers; trains volunteer managers; and leads volunteer relations. The Manager develops, implements and assesses volunteer programs strategically.

 

Pacific Science Center is staffed by a diverse group of volunteers and employees with varied backgrounds, education, experiences, and abilities. The Volunteer Talent Manager is flexible in expectations and training of all staff. This position interacts regularly with people within and outside the organization. The incumbent understands the needs of volunteers and aligns them with the needs of Pacific Science Center.

 

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience and experience working with a large, diverse volunteer base in a nonprofit organization. Strong computer usage skills in Microsoft Office Suite and volunteer data base (preferably Volgistics) management are essential. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are required. An enthusiastic and positive demeanor to attract and engage Volunteers is a must. It is vital for the candidate to be a mission oriented brand Ambassador for Pacific Science Center as well as a smiling team player. This position works occasional evenings and weekends.
