PUGET SOUND CHRISTIAN CLINIC MANAGER OF OUTREACH VOLUNTEER SERVICES

 Do you want to make a difference in the health of your community and in the lives of the people you serve? Puget Sound Christian Clinic (PSCC) has an outstanding opportunity for someone like you. We are seeking a Manager of Outreach Volunteer Services who will strengthen existing and forge new relationships throughout Puget Sound to ensure that under-served individuals who are without access to health care are aware of PSCC, and to oversee the our volunteer program by recruiting, training, appreciating, and evaluating PSCC volunteers.

Specifically you will:                                        

Outreach:

  • Strengthen and forge relationships with community organizations that serve people with limited financial resources through phone, email, and face-to-face meetings,
  • Work with Fund Development staff to ensure that appropriate marketing materials are available,
  • Lead or co-lead projects, such as Medicaid reimbursement and other similar projects, to open access to PSCC services to more underserved people,
  • Work with PSCC staff to create and update point-of-entry events to introduce individuals to PSCC,
  • Host or attend point-of-entry events in cooperation with PSCC staff and board members.

Volunteer Services:

  • Maintain all volunteer records,
  • Ensure that malpractice insurance and all required volunteer licenses are current,
  • Write and keep current job descriptions and training materials for all volunteer positions,
  • Hold regular training meetings for new volunteers,
  • Provide refresher training meetings for continuing volunteers, as needed,
  • Work with staff and board members to recognize the contribution of volunteers,
  • Present volunteer opportunities of the clinic to church and community groups,
  • Attend and participate in all required meetings, including: staff, volunteer appreciation events, and fundraising events.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

·        Education: Bachelor’s degree required,

·        Experience: Volunteer coordination/management preferred

·        Proficiencies: Computer competency; preferred proficiency in e-mail, Windows, Word, Excel; knowledge of volunteer resources in the Seattle area; bilingual skills a plus,

·        Local travel is required; consequently a car is needed,

·        Abilities: Organization with strong attention to detail, excellent oral and written communication, work independently as a self-starter.

This is a part-time, exempt position (20-30 hours per week), with potential to become full-time within 12 months.
