We provide skilled nursing care to medically complex children and young adults. We currently have cases throughout the Everett-Seattle-Tacoma area and on the Olympic Peninsula.
Dr. Catherine D’Ambrosio, a Clinical Professor of Nursing at the University of Washington and a practicing registered nurse for over 30 years, directly supervises all cases.
Nurses provide highly individualized, complex one-on-one intensive nursing care to our Precious Medically-Fragile Pediatric Patients -who range in age from infants to babies, toddlers, children, adolescents, and young adults. All of our Patients are living in their homes with their families.
Nurses have the flexibility to work full or part time and are directly involved in defining their own schedules.
Professional nursing care responsibilities include:
Ø head-to-toe physical assessments
Ø tracheostomy care
Ø Mechanical Ventilation –both pressure and volume ventilation
Ø intensive pulmonary treatments –including
§ use of cough assist devices
§ small volume nebulizers
§ chest PT
Ø oral, nasal & pulmonary suctioning
Ø ambu bagging
Ø continuous SpO2 monitoring
Ø titrating oxygen administration
Ø managing and administrating fluids and mediations through peripheral, PICC, port-a-caths, Hickman catheters, and other central venous lines
Ø on-going management and assessment of effectiveness of current nutrition & hydration interventions administered via
§ oral feedings
§ continuous and bolus:
· Gastrostomy-tube feedings
· Gastrojejunostomy (GJ) tube feedings
· Jejunostomy tube feedings
· gavage feedings
· total parenteral nutrition (TPN)
Ø administration of scheduled medications
Ø assessment & evaluation of need for and administration of PRN medications
Ø ongoing and continuous communication with
§ your Patient
§ your Patient’s Family Caregivers
§ your Nursing Mentor and Nursing Colleagues
§ your Patient's Primary and Specialty Care Providers
§ your Patient’s Physical, Occupational & Speech Therapists, Social Workers, and Educators.
Nurses work autonomously in the field with direct access to and support from your Nursing Mentor / Nursing Supervisor and office staff.
Our Pediatric Intensive Home Care Nurse Mentorship training program is available to all qualified RNs and LPNs.
Required Documents
Ø Valid Washington State Nursing License
Ø Current CPR Certification
Ø Annual proof of negative PPD (TB test)
Ø Proof of a Hepatitis B vaccination & serum conversion
Ø Documentation of annual flu vaccination
Ø Name/address/phone number of two professional references
Ø Valid driver’s license, car registration and insurance
Ø Social Security Card or other proof of eligibility to work in the US.
A criminal history background check -(as required by Washington State law) and meticulous vetting of work history and references will be conducted as part of the application process.
